"Not the Messiah" Is Coming To Budapest!
The first ever Hungarian language performance of Eric Idle and John Du Prez’s comedic oratorio “Not the Messiah” based on “Life of Brian” premieres this Sunday 31st May at the Papp László Budapest Sports Arena, Budapest. There will be a second performance on Monday 1st June.
The performance will be directed by György Szomor and star Hungarian actor, Steve Hajdu. Eric Idle is also joining the cast, and can be seen here in the rehearsals, which are in full swing.
Eric said of the occasion: “They love their Python here because it was considered very subversive during the Russian Occupation, and is credited with helping to bring down the regime…I didn't know that.” He also mentioned, quiet excitably, that he’s also going to meet the Mayor of Budapest!To find out more (albeit in Hungarian) visit here. -
